My Story

Mr. VS. Arunachalam (24/04/1897 - 30/08/1956) was born in a village called ‘Arni’ in the Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu. Having lost his father (an illustrious lawyer at the tender age of seven, he was thrown rudderless in an ocean of relatives, good and bad, young and old, helpful and otherwise. He belonged to a big and wealthy family. But, within a decade, the family was exploited and reduced to poverty.

He then decided to settle in Bombay (Mumbai) with his family and laid his first step in the city on 25th July in the year 1916. As a teenager, he had independent views. He has always engulfed himself in a world of his own, away from the material world, which had no meaning for him. Having gone through innumerable hardships and poverty in Mumbai, he finally was employed with a corporate job. Along with his busy work schedule, he spent all his leisure hours at home in the company of books. He steeped himself in the works of William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Francis Bacon, Oliver Goldsmith, Bernard Shaw, Rabindranath Tagore, Lord Byron and Alfred Tennyson.

Mr. V.S. Arunachalm’s ideas and concepts were way ahead of time and his writings were not understood by many during the period. He was a philosopher, poet, writer sans name and fame. Having witnessed the British rule over India and the World Wars 1 & 2, his writings reflect the sentiments of a common man of that period in the most philosophically analytical manner which transports the render to the yester years.

“Let this book be my parting visit into the hearts of my class of people of India or throughout the world, yet with a special aptitude for Bombay (Mumbai).”

I am the grandson of the author of Will Force viz; Late Mr. V.S. Arunachalam. I have been instrumental in publishing my grandad's precious writings which have been preserved by my family. It was my grandad's wish that his writings be published or filmed, therefore I take pride in fulfilling his wish and have tried the best to my capacity to justify his masterpieces.

‘Will Force’ is a fascinating work of fiction, originally written almost a century back, before the script – intended to be filmed – was appropriately unearthed, not only providing an indication on the terminology utilized then but, more importantly, also signifying the passion of people from a now bygone era towards science and space and, as a corollary, a yearning to discover whether humans are the only living beings within the universe. To say any more would reveal the true nature – and suspense – of the dialogue contained within ‘Will Force’. The “Scenes" are brief and the number of characters contained within the story line are sufficiently restricted so that the reader is not confused, as the manuscript progresses, on wracking one’s brains behind a who’s who…

Suffice to say here that Mr. Ravi Iyer has provided a yeoman’s service in discovering the writings of his late grandfather, VS Arunachalam, by shuffling through a 70-year-old hand written manuscript to bring about a charming story of fiction that, the author once said, “is incapable of conveying any lie”.

This books clearly go into the outline of books which will be my solace analyses as the book confesses all and drawing in with the genuine game plan of the writer. his perspectives are without control or dread and piled up with committed sentiments towards his country.
I preferred how the creator consolidated the ongoing political circumstances with Hindu folklore and did a relative examination. The agitating of the seas and at last how Lord Shiva stops the conflict between the Gods and the evil presences by swallowing the toxin just to be held in his throat by his devoted partner.

The verse is quite short. But what caught my eye the most are the brief tales which have remarkable titles. Being a set of experiences, this was for sure a treat. His thoughts on the virus war, assessment on the united and the hub controls, the distinct advantage of Nehru ji, India's freedom, Stalin’s system, and the government agent’s framework which won thus significantly more.

On the off chance that there's a book that should be characterized as a wonderful source of both pain and joy, it's 'Close Your Umbrellas', a gathering of his granddad, VS Arunachalam's sonnets, writing, and brief tales, by diverse ability Ravi Iyer.
